Information for Club Members
Swimmers' Code of Behaviour All swimmers are highly visible ambassadors of the club. As such, the club expects that they should conduct themselves appropriately at all times. The Code of Behaviour specifically highlights the club's minimum expectations of each swimmer whilst they are a representative of the club or attending club functions. It is each swimmer's personal responsibility to acquaint themselves with the Code of Behaviour and to observe it at all times. Breaches may result in your immediate suspension or expulsion from the club. Absolutely no alcohol, non-prescription drugs or cigarettes, at any time. Each swimmer is to declare any medication being taken, prescription or otherwise. Furthermore, each swimmer (and a parent or guardian if the swimmer is under 18 years of age) is required to provide written notification to the club in the prescribed form of any medical conditions or needs which may affect the health and safety of the swimmer, with appropriate instructions and authority to deal with the circumstances in the event of an emergency. Foul or offensive language is not acceptable at any time. It is a swimmer's personal responsibility to ensure that all rubbish and litter is placed in appropriate receptacles (be tidy). On club camps, swimmers must observe all official rules as designated by the Head Coach and/or Team Manager(s). Swimmers must remain seated when travelling on buses or other club-arranged transportation. Swimmers must obey without question all reasonable instructions and directions given by the Coach(s) and / or Team Manager. Swimmers must respect other people's property and rights to privacy and rest on club camps and excursions. In general, swimmers must conduct themselves in a reasonable and law-abiding manner at all times. If there is a serious breach of the Code of Behaviour on a club camp or excursion, the swimmer will be sent home. All expenses incurred for such travel will be met by the parent/guardian signing the Member Application Form.
This swimmers code of behaviour should be read in conjunction with Swimming Australia's Codes of Conduct Booklet, listing codes of conduct for competitors, parents/guardians, coaches & spectators. |
